EV charging
EV Charger Installation in Lake Forest Park
Here the question is rarely the unit. It is the eighty feet of slope between the panel and the car.
Long runs, done once
Detached garages at the bottom of a drive are the norm here, and distance is what makes these jobs different. Voltage drop over a long run has to be designed out by stepping the conductor up, and getting that wrong produces a charger that works in July and underperforms in January. So we measure the real route — around the slope, through the crawl space, under the drive if that is the sensible path — before anything is priced. The load calculation runs at the same visit, so you leave knowing both whether the service can carry it and what the run will cost.
What is included
A measured route, not an estimate
We walk it. On a sloped lot the real distance is routinely half as long again as it looks.
Conductor sized for the distance
Stepped up where voltage drop demands it, so the charger performs at the far end of the run.
A load calculation
What the service can carry with everything existing counted.
Permit and inspection
Filed, booked and met by us. EV circuits are inspected work in Washington.
Worth asking first
The garage is detached and downhill
The standard Lake Forest Park case, and the one most often mis-quoted from a photograph.
The drive is gravel or shared
It changes whether the run goes under, over or around, and all three price differently.
A second car is coming
Two chargers on one service is a load-management question before it is an installation one.
You are already having the drive dug
The cheapest moment by far to put a conduit in. Worth a call even if the car is a year away.
How the work runs
Walk the route
The real distance and the practical path, measured on site.
Run the calculation
What the service can carry, explained plainly.
Agree the plan
Unit position, route and conductor size settled with you before anything is cut.
Install and inspect
Circuit in, tested under load, inspector signs it off.
Questions about this work
Will a long run cost much more?
More than a garage on the house, yes, and less than people assume once it is measured. The jump is in conductor size, not in labour, and we will show you the figure for two or three route options.
Can the cable go under the driveway?
Often, and it is frequently the tidiest answer. Whether it is the cheapest depends on the surface and what is already buried, which is part of what the visit establishes.
Do I need a service upgrade?
Often not. The calculation decides it, and load management can avoid an upgrade even where capacity is tight.
