What happens before we quote

Every price starts with a visit, because the job you have is rarely the job a phone call describes.

The real route measured

We follow the path from panel to garage, shed or yard, since run length drives the cost more than the fittings.

Panel capacity checked

We see what the service already carries and how much is left before suggesting anything new.

Outdoor fittings inspected

Exterior lights, boxes and feeds get a look for damp and wear, so weatherproofing problems are caught on the same visit.

A written figure, no charge

You get a price against a defined scope, and the visit costs nothing whichever way you decide.

Why homeowners pick us

Practical reasons that show up in the price, the schedule and the finish.

Runs measured, not estimated

Long or awkward routes are walked and measured before pricing, so the cable you pay for matches what the job uses.

Honest advice on capacity

When the panel you have can handle the added load, that is what we tell you. An upgrade only comes up when the load calculation demands it.

Outdoor work built to last

Exterior lights, receptacles and feeds to sheds go in with weather-rated fittings and sealed entries, so they keep working through wet winters.

From first call to finished job

Four steps, with the price settled before any work starts.

01

Explain the problem

Tell us what is happening or what you want added; a short conversation usually shows the scale of the job.

02

On-site estimate

We check the panel and walk the route, then give you a written scope and price at no charge.

03

Permits and a firm date

Where needed we apply for the permit and schedule the inspector, then give you a work date that does not slide.

04

Install, inspect, label

Power is off for as little time as possible, the inspection is completed, and the panel is labelled clearly.

Common electrical questions

A breaker keeps shutting off. What does that mean?

It is telling you something is wrong on that circuit: too many things drawing power at once, damaged insulation or a loose connection somewhere along the run, or a breaker near the end of its life. Resetting it repeatedly can hide a heating problem, so we test the circuit, find which of those it is and price the repair that fixes it.

Should a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel be replaced?

In most homes, yes. These panels are widely reported to have breakers that do not always trip under fault, which removes the protection the panel exists to give. At the on-site estimate we check its condition and give you a written figure for a replacement panel, so you can schedule it on your terms.

Which jobs need a permit, and who arranges it?

New circuits, panel changes, chargers, rewiring and most remodel electrical are permitted and inspected work. We prepare and file the application, attend the inspection and pass you the final sign-off. Swapping a fixture or device like for like usually needs no permit, and we will say so.

Is the work covered after you leave?

Yes. Labor on everything we install is covered for two years. If a fault traces back to our installation, such as a connection that loosens, a termination that was not made right, or an outlet, switch or cover plate that was not secured properly, we come back, evaluate it and put it right without charging for the labor. Manufacturer defects, normal wear, misuse, changes or work by others, and problems in existing wiring that were not visible during the job are not included. Equipment makers' own warranties apply on top.

How is a panel upgrade priced?

From what we find on site: your existing service size, the meter and panel locations, what the utility requires, and how much finishing work the change involves. We put those into one written figure after the free visit, so you are comparing a real scope rather than a phone guess.
